Slip Over Seal Assembly – SOSA

What is it?
• An inverted Packer used for reconnecting to a cut Completion Tubing.
• Can be used in conventional or high-temp applications.
• Designed with Upper Seal-bore for sealing with a new completion.
• Retrievable design gives the option for a future disconnection.

Why use it?
• To reconnect to a cut Completion Tubing which cannot be removed from the well bore.
• A good option for recompleting cemented completions.
• Re-connect can be a good alternative to complex fishing jobs.
• Robust field-proven design.
• Can be retrieved from wellbore.

How to use it?
• The existing tubing should have an uniform cut.
• Dressing of cut with top-dressing tools may be required.
• The SOSA is conveyed and installed with a Hydraulic Setting Tool.
• A Seal Assembly connected to the lower end of the new Completion Tubing is stung into the Upper Seal
bore.

How do we know if it works?
• Installation method gives positive indication of successful setting.
• Can thereafter be pressure tested both from Tubing and Annulus to verify integrity.
• Retrieved systems confirms the ability of disconnection and removal from wellbore.

What are the competing products or solutions?
• Overshot type Fishing Tools with internal sealing system. This type of tool is commonly available with Fishing Companies. However it is not intended for long term installations.
